JOBS and Oregon's Economy

"Oregon does not owe anybody a job, but everyone deserves an opportunity to earn a living here."
-Kelly Lovelace

Oregonians need real jobs, so they can support their families with pride and Oregon can get back to work. Government doesn't create jobs, we the people do. It's the people of Oregon using their can-do creativity, imagination and hard work. I want to represent you in Salem to re-energize our economy, motivate employers to stay here, come here and invest here for opportunities for Oregonians.

The State of Oregon is really a partner with the people of Oregon. When we are successful, the state gets a cut from our income--income taxes. More success, more people are working, there is more income tax to collect. The state purchases services, up to what we have earned, from pooling our money (taxes) for cost-efficient and effective services like law enforcement, education and transportation. By increasing the real job opportunities in Oregon, we will solve our current funding problem.

With Oregon's competitive advantages, opportunities need to be tied to the unique benefits from here so we avoid the revolving door which has allowed some corporations to swoop in, take advantage of our goodwill and incentives and then leave us with empty buildings and struggling families.

Every essential service can be funded from more work, more income, and more revenue….We can solve funding for schools, public safety, roads, even parks with more jobs. Kelly Lovelace understands getting real jobs to Oregon to support families with pride.
